Basketball at WIS is a rapidly growing and popular sport, with teams competing in the highest divisions in the city. Emphasising inclusivity, WIS offers a wide range of teams, ensuring every student can participate and develop their skills. Our year-round training program provides continuous development opportunities, preparing players for two competitive seasons each year. The basketball programme focuses on fostering well-being, teamwork, and personal growth within a supportive community. With expert coaching and a commitment to quality provision, WIS basketball empowers students to reach their full potential while enjoying the sport they love.

Expectations

Students attend at least one of the coaching sessions they are allocated, and commit to the team for an entire season once selected.

Meet our coaching team:

Nathan Yu (Co-Founder & Director)

Professional Experience: A veteran professional player whose career includes stints with the South China Athletic Association (SCAA), Macau Black Bears, and Winling Basketball Club.
Accomplishments: A former back-to-back HKBA Division 1 Champion (2016-2017). He is a prominent figure in Hong Kong basketball, having captained at the South China Athletic Association. He also led SCAA to the league's first ever perfect season of 21 wins and 0 losses in 2017.

Duncan Reid (Co-Founder & Director)

Professional Experience: A professional basketball player with extensive experience in the Hong Kong Basketball Association (HKBA), playing for the South China Athletic Association (SCAA). He has played professionally in the CBA for the Nanjing Monkey Kings and Zhejiang Golden Bulls. Has also played in the PBA with the Bay Area Dragons 2021 - 2022.
Accomplishments: A 5x HKBA Division 1 Champion and 2x MVP (2016–2017). He currently serves as the captain of the Hong Kong National Team (2016–present) and is the Captain of the current Tycoon Basketball Club.

Pricing is variable due to competitive training requirements and demand throughout the school year.
