Football

West Island has a strong football reputation within Hong Kong. Competing in both the HKSSF and ISSF competitions, West Island typically reach the knockout stages of both competitions. A number of players were selected for the inaugural ESF all-stars and there are several youth players representing Hong Kong.

Kit and equipment

Players must purchase full home and away kits (shirt, shorts, socks) in Window 1. Appropriate football boots for astroturf or firm ground, and shin pads.

Note: Both HKSSF and ISSFHK leagues do not permit players to enter the field of play without shinpads.

Expectations

Players attend training and commit to the team for an entire season.

Juventus Academy Hong Kong is the official Juventus Football Club partner in Hong Kong, providing high-quality football coaching and development programmes for schools and young players across the city. The Academy proudly delivers the Football CAS programmes at West Island School, creating a professional, inclusive and enjoyable environment where students of all abilities can develop their technical skills, confidence, teamwork and understanding of the game.

All sessions follow the internationally recognised Juventus methodology and are delivered by a highly qualified and experienced coaching team, including more than 10 UEFA A and UEFA B licensed coaches. Representing seven different nationalities, our diverse coaching team reflects the multicultural nature of Hong Kong and provides a strong platform to connect with and support students from a wide range of backgrounds.

Beyond the school programme, students can continue their football journey through the Academy’s Development and Performance pathways. Programmes are available for boys and girls aged 2–18 at venues across Hong Kong, ranging from recreational development sessions to competitive squads representing Juventus Academy Hong Kong in the HKJFL, JCL and PYL.
