Football

West Island has a strong football reputation within Hong Kong. Competing in both the HKSSF and ISSF competitions, West Island typically reach the knockout stages of both competitions. A number of players were selected for the inaugural ESF all-stars and there are several youth players representing Hong Kong.

Kit and equipment

Players must purchase full home and away kits (shirt, shorts, socks) in Window 1. Appropriate football boots for astroturf or firm ground, and shin pads.

Note: Both HKSSF and ISSFHK leagues do not permit players to enter the field of play without shinpads.

Expectations

Players attend training and commit to the team for an entire season.

Asia Pacific Soccer Schools is a well-established coaching company in Hong Kong. Their team coach children from 2-17 years of age, covering the WIS CAS activities in addition to our own pathway programme. The coaches are all highly qualified, with over 15 having achieved a UEFA B license or above.
